Sign Design Tips
Designing For Impact

Color & Contrast

A high color contrast factor will improve legibility.
Best Combinations, Ranked in Order of Legibility from a Distance.

Typestyles
Choose Your Typestyle Carefully
We tend to use a very simple font combination most of the time (ie Helvetica & Helvetica Black)
We have an unlimited number of fonts to choose from. Be Conservative on usage.

Serif Fonts

Serif fonts project a more sophisticated upscale image. They make large bodies of text easier to read - such as a book.

Sans Serif Fonts

Sans Serif fonts project a strong durable image. They effectively communicate quick bursts of information

Decorative Fonts

Decorative fonts project distinctive images for special situations. Legibility is also a concern especially over greater viewing distances.

Script Fonts

Script fonts project an elegant image. Poor Legibility. Use for short viewing distances and in combinations of upper and lower case letters
